Sanitation Technician - 1st or 3rd Shift

Job Summary: 

The qualified candidate will work with a variety of equipment to maintain cleanliness of the entire facility. The position consists of routine manual work which requires physical endurance and a willingness to perform manual tasks including working from heights on ladders and scissor lifts.  Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule, mandatory overtime as needed and in a variety of weather conditions. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize the following areas:

• Mixing room
• Production areas
• Walls and Ceilings
• All equipment
• Exterior plant area as needed

• Safely Operate within ten days:

• Floor scrubber
• Fork lift
• Boom lift
• Scissor lift

• Remove trash and debris
• Clean flour and sugar silo areas
• Understand equipment instructions, manuals, specifications, and safety requirements
• Read instruments and record all required data
• Maintain cleanliness of all work areas
• Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Knowledge in GMPs and HACCP program
• Must have sufficient reading and writing skills in English in order to comprehend equipment instructions, manuals, and specifications.
• Basic math skills to calculate and measure cleansers/sanitizers
• Must be a self-starter
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good organization skills
• Ability to prioritize work schedules
• Ability to lift 55.5 lbs unassisted
• Ability to lift excess of 55.5 lbs up to 100 lbs with assistance
• Ability to stand and walk up to 90% of the time
• Ability to climb and work at large heights
• Ability to work in hot, wet, and/or tight spaces
• Crawling and working on knees and ladders is required
• Ability to work at heights without disorientation
• Must understand and follow all safety policies and procedures

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 18 years of age
• One year of experience working in a sanitation setting preferred

Starting Pay: Sanitation Technician I $17.90 /hr. We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the 90^th day of employment.
