Certified Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician - Eye Physicians & Surgeons
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician performs various routine tasks and works effectively with other technicians and clinic personnel to provide efficient and effective services for the patients and physicians. The assistant works daily with refractions, ascan, visual acuity, color testing, pupil evaluations, visual field testing, and dilation drops. The assistant must have a clear understanding of ophthalmology terminology and have technical use of all instruments and equipment. They must also be able to make clear judgments regarding patient care. They are required to assist and scribe the physician on any and all patients.
qualifications:
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent
Preferred qualifications include work experience in ophthalmology clinic; certifications required – C.O. A. or higher; ability to communicate effectively; ability to work compatibly with physicians and other staff members.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM
