Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Heart & Vascular

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Advanced Practice provider (PA or NP) job duties may include but are not limited to:

• Providing patient care in the outpatient clinic, hospital, ASC/OBL or long term care setting.
• Obtaining comprehensive health histories, as appropriate.
• Performing comprehensive physical examinations including development and functional status determination, as appropriate
• Systematically assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.
• Developing a prioritized comprehensive problem list, as appropriate.
• Ordering and/or performing and interpreting pertinent diagnostic tests.
• Participating in interdisciplinary quality improvement efforts to improve clinical practice.
• Demonstrating knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with patients and families while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
• Collaborating with other staff members to improve quality of patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills: Successful completion of a Masters in Nursing program or Physician Assistant program. Must have successfully completed the required clinical practice hours of the accredited university.

Certification/Licensure: A current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Mississippi as a FNP or current Physician Assistant license.  Also, prefer a current certification in ACLS.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM
