Spa - Spa and Wellness Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY
As an integral part of a team, the Spa Supervisor is responsible for continuously looking for ways to exceed the guest’s expectations and provide anticipatory service, according to Halekulani standards. He or she will oversee all aspects of the spa operations and is responsible for providing gracious and efficient guest service from the point of arrival to the departure. The Spa & Wellness Supervisor must be knowledgeable of the industry and trends, Halekulani and Spa facilities, services and products, hotel events, and surrounding areas. He or she will monitor all staffing, facility, and supply procedures, as well as maintain open communication with management, employees, associates, and clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Adhere to Halekulani Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment
- Adhere to all Hotel and Spa Policies & Procedures
- Lead and attend weekly operations briefings and meetings
- Communicate all goals and appropriate information with spa staff
- Maintain monthly and weekly staff scheduling
- Support and supervise the Spa and Wellness staff
- Assist in staff trainings reinforcing on ‘Guest Experience’ and new hire orientations
- Reinforce service standards through daily feedback with team and regular evaluations
- Prepare and submit Retail and Professional purchase requisitions
- Assist with receiving and restocking inventories
- Assist with monthly inventory counts
- Identify potential problem areas and facilitate response action
- Utilize the hotel systems to monitor the progress and status of all spa maintenance items
- Evaluate and provide efficient operation of the spa including supplies, inventory levels, and staffing
- Monitor and balance daily appointments, as well as group reservations, waitlists, and turn-away logs
- Assist with provider scheduling and ensure adequate availability of appointments
- Assist in developing and maintaining SOPs and Spa protocols
- Respond to guest and staff issues in the timely manner
- Record and submit guest opportunities and all incident reports in a timely manner
- Maintain positive relations with all Halekulani and Halepuna departments
- Perform all duties listed for Wellness Advisor as needed
- Perform all other duties as may be required or assigned
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
Reports To: Director of Spa & Wellness
Supervises: Spa and Wellness Staff (Providers, Coordinators and Advisors)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
- Minimum 2 years training in Spa or Hospitality related industry
- Minimum three years of leadership experience, preferably in spa or health related industry
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Certification in CPR
- Liquor Commission Certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly
- Extensive knowledge of spa and health industries
- Knowledge of hotel services, local attractions, and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Communication skills including emotional intelligence
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to maintain positive guest and staff relations
- Skilled in computer systems and software

- Ability to lift and carry loads up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours throughout work shift
- Maintain stationary position for up 90 minutes throughout each treatment during work shift
