PAY RANGE: $27.56 - $32.00 HOURLY

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Commercial Loan Processing Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring seamless loan processing, compliance adherence, and stakeholder coordination. This position demands high level service, regulatory knowledge, and proactive issue resolution. This role aids in communication and deadline management, supporting the efficiency of loan operations. This role serves as a point of contact for internal teams and external partners while driving improvements in loan processing workflows.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

  1. Serve as point of contact for title companies, loan processing team, and third-party service providers, ensuring efficient communication and seamless loan processing.
  2. Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve loan inquiries, addressing discrepancies and escalating issues when necessary to maintain compliance and loan integrity.
  3. Manage and oversee the ordering of title reports, flood certificates, and appraisal requests while ensuring timely follow-ups to avoid processing delays.
  4. Maintain a high-level oversight of processing pipeline reports, proactively updating the team on key delivery dates, potential bottlenecks, and operational efficiencies.
  5. Ensure that requests from external partners are processed efficiently, meeting or exceeding Golden 1 service-level expectations.
  6. Provide critical support and adaptability to accommodate the evolving demands of the loan processing team, helping optimize workflow efficiencies.
  7. Oversee financial operations related to vendor payments, tracking, and submitting invoices to ensure compliance with contract terms and timely payment processing
  8. Organize, file, and label loan inquiry documents with precision and security, ensuring streamlined access to essential records.
  9. Provide adaptable support to meet the evolving demands of the loan processing team and enhance workflow efficiencies.
  10. Support compliance monitoring to ensure all commercial loan processing functions align with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  11. Take ownership of complex projects assigned by management, demonstrating independent problem-solving capabilities.
  12. Maintain a thorough understanding of State and Federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
  13. Perform functions in accordance with Golden 1’s performance competency standards.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

 

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:

  1. Effective oral and written communication skills required to interact with members, staff, branches, counties, title companies, servicing, investor staff, vendors, and other department staff.
  2. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computers, facsimile machines, and telephone.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. INTERNAL:Credit Union management and all levels of staff.
  2. EXTERNAL:Members, title companies, escrow agents, brokers, and others as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. EDUCATION: Associate of Arts degree in Business or Finance is required. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for a college degree.
  2. EXPERIENCE:3-5 years of experience within a Loan Processing department of a financial institution.
  3. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
    • Strong member relation skills
    • Solid oral and written communication skills
    • Solid analytical skills
    • Ability to use logical reasoning, make objective observations, evaluations, and recommendations.
    • Innovative with high- initiative in all activities
    • Maintain knowledge of commercial industry and G1 loan programs
    • Attend training provided through seminars, webinars and coaching as compliance, policies/procedures, or work processes dictate change.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
  2. Corrected vision within the normal range
  3. Heavy telephone volume and computer usage
  4. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
  5. Ability to lift 15 lbs. as may be required.
  6. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
  7. Unusually long work hours may be required to accomplish tasks.
  8. Ability to adhere to company established standards for mortgage volume and delivery and purchase turn time expectations.
