Vocational Training Instructor - ESOL
Summary
Develops, coordinates, and conducts vocational training and job readiness to individuals with barriers to employment. Assists individuals in earning certifications and credentials in customer service, food service, and janitorial training. Provides English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) training focused specifically on employment and job readiness.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. In conjunction with the vocational training team, develops and delivers a variety of vocational training programs and certifications that meet student and employer needs.
2. Provides ESOL training focused specifically on employment and job readiness.
3. Maintains curricula and materials for vocational training programs as assigned.
4. Provides instruction through various modalities: in-person, group, and individual service delivery; blended learning; and virtual online methodologies as appropriate.
5. Researches and develops additional training related to industry-recognized certifications, short-term credentialing, pre-apprenticeship, and apprenticeship programs as assigned.
6. Assists in the development of new services that meet the needs of the community, fulfill Goodwill/Easter Seals’ mission, and expand the departments’ array of services.
7. Understands program eligibility and enrollment criteria, specifically WIOA, TANF, and OOD standards.
8. Completes documentation and maintains records to meet requirements for specific funding sources.
9. Markets programs and maintains communication with referral sources concerning training needs.
10. Facilitates communication with internal and external resources to determine skills training needs.
11. Ensures maintenance of curricula and materials; provides regular inventory of training materials to the vocational training facilitator.
12. Provides input for monthly staffing with program participants, referral sources, etc., to discuss program planning and progress.
13. Complies with all Agency policies, procedures, and safety standards throughout work areas and maintains the same to meet CARF, HIPAA, Department of Labor, and other regulatory standards.
14. Other duties may be assigned.

Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in the field of vocational education/education preferred or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a teaching or training capacity.
Experience Requirements
Experience with ESOL highly preferred. Experience with developing and presenting classroom curricula associated with general education. Strong computer skills needed to teach certifications in a virtual environment.

- Employees must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider. If at any time the employee is unable to maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to GESMV’s liability insurance provider, they must immediately notify Human Resources. Employees must use their own vehicle for travel within the GESMV service area and must have and maintain a reliable source of transportation.
- Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.

1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Applications.
2. Proficiency in web-based data management systems and applications for computer instruction and employment.
3. Ability to load software, troubleshoot basic problems, and learn about current software.
