Social Media / External Content Specialist
Summary
This Social Media/External Content Specialist will have a great opportunity to join a highly experienced marketing team and conceptualize, create, and implement marketing/communication materials to our many social media and digital platforms to deliver messaging to the communities we serve in our 29-county service area.
The Social Media/External Content Producer is responsible for creating and managing digital content, including articles, videos, infographics, and social media posts regarding GESMV and our many product lines. This content will focus on Retail, Program Services, and Business Services along with overall agency outreach, events, and mission awareness to be featured on all our digital platforms and websites.
This role requires a deep understanding of social media and consumer trends, digital production skills as well as effective communication and collaboration skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The External Content Producer is responsible for creating and managing digital content, including articles, videos, infographics, and social media posts regarding GESMV and our many product lines. This content will focus on Retail, Program Services, and Business Services along with overall agency outreach, events, and mission awareness to be featured on all our digital platforms and websites.
This role requires a deep understanding of social media and consumer trends, digital production skills, as well as effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Manage all content on gesmv.org and other microsites.
- Develop the social media calendar.
- Work with all divisions to create engaging digital content to include on all social media channels and websites to provide valuable and timely information to our external customers.
- Manage all social media posts.
- Create engaging video content, including reels and other digital formats.
- Collaborate with the Public Relations Manager to develop influencers for retail focusing on thrifting and DIY projects (repurposing Items)
- Strategically develop campaigns and metrics in partnership with the Public Relations Manager
- Maintain and report on KPI and other stats to increase the footprint on our social media channels and digital platforms.
- Explore expansion to other emerging social media channels and digital platforms.
- Develop and maintain strategic ad campaigns with emphasis on boosting and placing advertising when appropriate.

Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Social Media Management or related field.
Minimum of two years of experience related to writing and content creation, graphic design, web content management, and social media management.

Qualifications
Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.
Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication skills—interpersonal, oral, and written with a focus on engaging copywriting.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work in a team environment, along with fostering relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational and documentation skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, including schedules and resources, simultaneously and under a deadline environment.
- Demonstrated experience with CMS systems and social media platforms.
- Demonstrated intermediate-level skills with Microsoft 360 Suite and Adobe Creative Suite or comparable design and video editing software.
- Knowledge and ability to capture still photography, graphic design, video, and postproduction skills are a must.
