Insurance Manager - Fee Loading & Ticketing
What you’ll do…
This position will be responsible for overseeing and managing day to day operations of the Insurance Department. Responsibilities included but not limited to fee loading, plan loading and creation, insurance verifications, and answering ticking system requests.
This position is located at the GEDC Practice Support Center in Southfield, MI and would require an on-site presence 5 days per week.
What you’ll bring to the team…
- Understand how fee schedule accuracy impacts operations and other departments at the Practice Support Center (PSC)
- Acts as liaison between Dental Offices and Practice Support Center (PSC)
- Develop, manage and maintain workflow of the insurance department
- Follows up on issues or concerns as if relates to fee schedules, insurance plans and insurance verifications.
- Maintain file structure for all insurance companies making additions or changes in directory hierarchy as needed
- Complete annual updates for all fees and maintain schedule of effective dates
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology and systems to improve overall revenue cycle functions
- Manages/oversees the entire Insurance Department
- Performance management, evaluating, mentoring and staff development
- Build and maintain relationships with external companies to stay current on changes or exceptions, keeping communication timely and effective
- Providing excellent customer service and support to both internal and external customers
- Ensures accurate loading of fees and plans into practice management software to ensure accurate quotes for what a service may cost a patient
- Accurate fee schedules and plans are loaded correctly to ensure accurate billing to patient and provider compensation
- Success measured by:
- Percentage of fees loaded accurately by state
- Percentage of plans loaded accurately by state
- Denial rates decreases once a state goes live with regionalized verification
- Accountable for overtime of staff
- Travel as needed via airplane or car less than 10% of time
- Other tasks or duties requested by Manager
What we require you have…
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or healthcare administration or equivalent experience
- 3 years management experience (insurance contracts, provider enrollment and data analysis)
- Background in dental insurance or general insurance knowledge is preferred
- Must possess high degree of professionalism and adaptability
- Team Player
- Ability to work independently and professionally in a high volume environment
- High level of detail orientation and organizational skills
- The ability to organize large amounts of data including plan participation, directories, spreadsheets, and files
- The ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast pace environment where priorities can change quickly. Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when needed
- Extremely strong communication skills, which will include interaction between the Practice Support Center and Dental Offices as well as interaction with Executives. The ability to create well- articulated internal memos to address insurance issues and communicate the solutions to all Dental Offices
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office and Office Suite) with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Excel and ability to use lookups, conditional statements, and data modeling for internal use and external presentation
- Knowledge on how dental plans calculate copays and adjudicate claims.
