Licensed Practical Nurse / LPN

Friendship is looking for Licensed Practical Nurses to join our Friendship Salem Terrace team, located in Salem, VA. The primary purpose of your job position is to provide direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.  

Full Time LPN Sign On Bonus - $7,500 paid out equally over 30 pay periods

Shifts Available:

• Full Time 2:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m. schedule includes every other weekend
• Full Time 6:45 p.m. - 7:15 a.m. schedule includes every other weekend

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistant in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility to include monitoring POC documentation compliance
• Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility
• Complete corresponding electronic health records upon the resident’s admission, transfer, and/or discharge
• Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures to include updating care plans
• Make appropriate reports to the Nurse Supervisor as required or as may be necessary.  Follow facility’s established policy
• Consult with the resident’s physician in providing the resident’s care, treatment, rehabilitation, etc. as necessary
• Review the resident’s chart for specific treatments, medication orders, diets, etc. as necessary

Qualifications:

• Unencumbered LPN license or eligible to sit for boards in the state of Virginia required
• Adult First Aid/CPR and AED preferred
• Experience in a long-term care/nursing facility preferred
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds
