Adhesive Sales- Territory Manager
Franklin International, a leading manufacturer of adhesives, coatings, and sealants is currently seeking a Territory Manager in Canada. (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia). This position is responsible for maintaining existing customers, adding new customers, and growing sales volume and profits in assigned territory.
Fundamental Job Tasks:
Retains current clients by offering superior customer service. Works with key customers on the coordination of both current products and new product development. Aids in the training of customer personnel and new hires. Maintains good relationships with customers, assists customers with information on general inquiries and requests, problems and complaints, price quotations, status of current orders, etc. Communicates with customers by periodic personal visits, telephone and correspondence. Able to defer threats by the competition. Supports Franklin's vision, values, and reputation for superior technical service.
Gains new customers by employing effective sales and marketing strategies. Analyzes potential markets with respect to Franklin capabilities and sales goals. Convinces prospective customers of the desirability of purchasing from Franklin. Plans activities to achieve penetration into selected market areas. Establishes Franklin as the high "value-added" supplier of adhesives in the marketplace. Works with sales manager and lab personnel to develop formulas for prospective customers. Seeks to gain business from large consumers of caulks & adhesives in assigned territory. Calls on new customers and new accounts. Develops and assists in implementation of new adhesive applications and production processes for existing and prospective customers. Works with the larger Franklin team to ensure customer payment, adequate warehouse inventory and cooperation with sales representatives in other divisions. Coordinates interaction between corporate staff and customers, encouraging broad divisional understanding and ownership of key accounts in territory.
Preserves Franklin’s long-term financial well-being through appropriate strategic planning. Suggests and implements pricing (contract pricing, special pricing, etc.) and programs. Executes price increases when necessary and is able to justify need to customer when asked. Monitors and minimizes expenses and other incidental costs. Helps manage product inventory in regional warehouse. Manages relationships with regional distributors as appropriate. Develops and implements annual territory plans to reach targeted budget and profit goals; identifies critical success factors that support Divisional and Corporate goals. Primary decision-maker for return authorizations.
Seeks to increase customer satisfaction by researching and identifying opportunities to improve products. Works with marketing, sales, lab and key customers to identify issues and opportunities. Collects competitive intelligence and industry trends through websites, literature, other sales reps, trade shows, etc. Attends and represents the division at various trade shows. Inquires into customers' satisfaction with Franklin's products. Conducts customer satisfaction survey as needed. Works collectively with customers to generate solutions to production problems. Keenly observes customer operations and processes to identify problems, opportunities, and concerns. Provides technical service, product recommendations and trouble-shooting advice to customers.
Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree with one to three years of sales and consulting services experience. Must possess valid driver license and required insurance.
