Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Onshore Technical Lead to support multiple client engagements within the Insurance domain. This role involves close collaboration with clients and coordination with both onshore and offshore delivery teams to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and a proactive mindset toward process improvement and automation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key member of the application hosting team (supporting deployment on AWS and EXL’s Data Center), managing deployment, maintenance, and optimization of Windows-based and cloud-hosted applications.
  • Oversee provisioning, configuration, and administration of Windows Server and AWS infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to design scalable and secure hosting solutions.
  • Manage application deployments, patching, upgrades, and security hardening in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Monitor application performance and proactively address bottlenecks and issues.
  • Implement best practices for backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity across hybrid environments.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies, SOX regulations, and data privacy laws.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers for licensing, support, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the U.S. Insurance domain (Life, Annuity, or Health), preferably with a policy administration system.
  • At least 3 years in a client-facing role with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management and solution architecture.
  • Proven experience supporting production applications with strict SLAs.
  • Hands-on experience with batch scheduling tools such as ActiveBatch, RunMyJobs, Control-M, or Autosys.
  • 2+ years of experience hosting and supporting applications on AWS.
  • Experience with IIS, Apache TomEE, and self-hosted applications on Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
  • Proficiency in AWS services including EC2, Auto scaling, Storage gateway, S3, RDS, EKS, ECS, Amazon Cognito, SNS, SQS, and IAM.
  • Experience with automation tools like PowerShell, Ansible, or SCCM.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and shell scripting.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as SCOM, Site24x7, AWS CloudWatch, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices, vulnerability management, and compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator – Associate
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Knowledge of .NET is a plus
  • Experience working in ITIL-governed environments
  • Additional Skills – Knowledge of FTP/SFTP, T-SQL
