About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. AVP Client Implementation Lead to lead the onboarding and implementation of new Life & Annuity (L&A) Third-Party Administration (TPA) clients. This role is critical in ensuring a seamless transition for clients into our TPA services and requires a blend of deep insurance domain expertise, operational insight, and exceptional client relationship skills.

As a trusted advisor and strategic partner to our clients, you will provide leadership during onboarding engagements, serve as the a key client interface during implementations, and ensure delivery excellence in alignment with client expectations, business goals, and profitability targets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Onboarding & Relationship Management
    • Serve as the key point of contact for new L&A TPA clients during onboarding and implementation phases.
    • Provide leadership during diligence studies and business requirement gathering for Life and annuity based pursuits.
    • Develop strong client relationships, ensuring alignment of expectations, scope, timelines, and success metrics.
    • Facilitate executive-level updates, status reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Implementation Oversight
    • Direct and lead cross-functional teams (operations, IT, compliance, actuarial, etc.) to execute seamless client transitions.
    • Create, manage, and oversee detailed project plans, risk mitigation strategies, issue resolution, and change control processes.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements throughout onboarding and setup.
  • Strategic Enablement
    • Act as a client advocate within internal teams to align TPA services with client needs.
    • Identify and escalate risks or gaps in readiness, and drive mitigation plans to successful outcomes.
    • Support development of standardized onboarding frameworks, tools, and templates to drive efficiency and consistency across implementations.
  • Operational Readiness & Transition to BAU
    • Coordinate knowledge transfer and ensure readiness of operational teams to support steady-state services.
    • Define and manage acceptance criteria for go-live and transition to business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
    • Capture lessons learned and lead continuous improvement initiatives for future client onboardings.

 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Life & Annuity insurance operations, with a strong understanding of policy administration, claims, compliance, and customer service.
  • 5+ years of client-facing experience in a TPA, BPO, or consulting environment, preferably with exposure to large-scale implementations.
  • Proven success leading complex onboarding or transformation programs with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks in the insurance sector.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools (PMP, Agile, etc. preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, or a related field; advanced degree or industry certification (e.g., LOMA, FLMI) is a plus.
