Role overview:
EXL has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resource Business Partner to join our US HR team based in Jersey City, NJ or New York, NY.
We are looking for a strong individual who can work independently with the ability to be a strategic business partner with a strong business acumen and expertise in classic human resource areas such as: employee relations, HR Consulting, Performance Management, Change Management, Employee Engagement, Compensation and Talent Management. The individual will work closely with employees, Analytics business leads and is expected to serve as our regional expert for all human resources functions in the United States and Canada.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Assist with employee onboarding and related formalities
- Manage the end-to-end employment life cycle
- Provide support and expertise on a range of HR-related matters and timely resolve any issues/queries that may arise
- Assist with policy/process implementation
- Help maintain a positive and welcoming culture and work towards maintaining our goal of “Employer of choice” and “Enhanced employee experience”
- Assist with performance management related tasks
- Assist with reward and recognition related tasks
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like retention and attrition rates, also work on other reports as required
- Ensure employee files and records are maintained and up to date
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations
- Exposure to various work authorization types and working closely with the immigration team, to the extent needed
- Assist with payroll related data and reports
- Assist with employee offboarding
Qualifications:
- Degree/Certification in Human Resources Management
- 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Excellent communication (written + verbal) and people skills
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- Experience liaising and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Highly collaborative with the ability to foster strong and trusted relationships across clients, cross-functional partners, and key stakeholders.
- Ability to influence by developing data-driven solutions to the business.
Technical Skills:
- MS Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access
- HRIS: Oracle, Workday, etc.
