Sr Electrician
Job Description
Provide general electrical trade services to the company as directed by Facilities Management. General electrical trade service includes but are not limited to installing new electrical infrastructure to support new equipment and new construction and maintaining/upgrading old electrical infrastructure throughout the facility.
Qualifications
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Install and maintain wiring, conduit systems, and electrical components like circuit breakers, panels, lighting fixtures, and outlets.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electronic production equipment and ESD equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical wiring diagrams to plan and execute electrical installations.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Perform safety checks on electrical units to ensure they meet regulatory standards and local building code.
- Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures to isolate potential hazardous equipment.
- Operate fire alarm panel to put in/out of service.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
- Work in cleanrooms and manufacturing environments, following company policies and procedures, to perform job responsibilities.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
- Coordinate with 3rd party contractors to provide support on electrical plans and projects.
- Other duties as assigned by the facilities manager, including janitorial/custodial tasks and general office tasks such as moving office furniture, managing trash and recycling, daily/weekly inspections.
- Use facilities ticketing system to view, plan, and document future, in-process, and completed tasks on a daily basis.
Education, Experience & License or Certification:
- Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
- 5+ years’ experience in a commercial/industrial electrical position.
- High school diploma or GED.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient at using hand tools and power tool including but not limited to electric drills, reciprocating saws, pipe threading machine, pipe benders, etc.
- Proficient at using diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Able to work from ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, one man lifts, and roofs.
- Able to work in tight and confined spaces.
- Strong communication skills
- Personal computer and other data acquisition devices.
