Purpose: The Sheet Metal Team Lead provides leadership to assigned crew performing maintenance, modifications, and repairs to ensure constant team development and team success.

  • Pay (hourly). Estimated yearly earnings depending on experience ~ $40K - $70K

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, direct, and develop assigned crew in performing sheet metal maintenance and modification functions utilizing appropriate technical data
  • Consistently monitor performance of assigned crew for quality, efficiency, and timeliness of work
  • Assign planned work to crew to maximize productivity in conjunction with Maintenance Control
  • Provide on-the-job instruction and training regarding maintenance/modification work, company process and procedures, and applicable standards to personnel within assigned crew
  • Effectively research manufacturer’s manuals & applicable engineering drawings for appropriate action prior to performing maintenance/modification tasks
  • Review routine and non-routine tasks to identify planned action in a timely manner as well as necessary parts, materials, and tooling needed for each applicable non-routine task assigned
  • Ensure project turnover log is filled out prior to end of shift to account for all work performed, as well as providing detailed information regarding in-work tasking for oncoming shift
  • Monitor and control the flow, control, and completion of task cards and applicable work documents in area of responsibility
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with FAA regulations and standards
  • Ensure proper execution of parts tag instructions in accordance with Repair Station Quality Control Manual
  • Proficient utilizing company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program relating to locating available parts, tooling, work orders, and engineering documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Requirements:

  • FAA Airframe license preferred
  • 5+ years of equivalent military, trade school, or aircraft structures experience preferred
  • High school education required; some college preferred
  • Provide your own toolbox (shadowed) and tools (etched)
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment with A&P Mechanics, Inspectors, Pilots, and Engineers to maintain and modify aircraft
  • Experience working in an AS9100, ISO 9001, DCMA and FAA Part 145 environment preferred
  • Ability to: lift, balance, and carry 50 lbs, crawl in and out of tight spaces, and predominantly work in enclosed hangars, occasionally in exterior weather conditions or elevated heights
