Job Overview:

The Technical Manager is a technical specialist responsible for the technical product support, quotations, and field execution support for the Dresser-Rand (D-R) aftermarket initiative.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Technical Manager will be responsible for the following:

 

Proposal Support

  • Visit potential customers and sites and help the sales team qualify and develop a firm proposal for overhauls (pre-bid discussions and site walks) with an emphasis on identifying the proper BOM and site specific or custom parts or site requirements.

Technical Support

  • Provides technical expertise, guidance, and specific data to answer field and customer inquiries related to D-R equipment with an emphasis on maintenance and operations.  Supports Ask Cooper function related to D-R equipment.

 

Field Execution Support

  • Serve as customer advocate and field support for D-R projects during execution.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred
  • Minimum High School diploma or GED from an accredited school or institution with at least 7 years of experience in sales, engineering or commercial proposal development
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in D-R engines and compressors
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), CRM and SAP
  • Commitment to safety, customer service quality and to work in team-oriented environment
  • Up to 30% travel may be required
