Job Overview:

 

The Product Manager is a product specialist who is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of the Cooper Machinery Services supported products portfolio for Slow Speed and Legacy Gas Compressors.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

The Product Manager will be responsible for the following:

 

Market

  • Identify and prioritize compressor parts sales and overhauls based on the installed fleet
  • Identify and build relationships with the top customers who are interested in OEM+ product
  • Evaluate competition and build SWOT analysis to optimize our position in this business
  • Bring forth product development ideas based on market and regulatory trends
  • Mapping customers to products

 

Offering

  • Identify high failure or high-volume parts to stock, and recommend suitable stocking levels
  • Identify parts to improve with engineering support
  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Product analysis / prioritization
  • Train and develop our sales personnel to offer and sell Slow Speed and Legacy Gas Compressors products and services
  • Develop pricing plans and discounts/multipliers in collaboration with Pricing team for key customers and products
  • Collaborate with other third-party service companies to complement our offerings
  • Competitive analysis / strategy
  • Life cycle definition / strategy
  • Sales playbook creation (by product)
  • Accountability alongside Sales team for the top line targets of the product line

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED from an accredited school or institution with at least 7 years of experience in sales, engineering or commercial proposal development
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred
  • Strong knowledge of design, function and performance standards of reciprocating compressors preferred
  • Familiarity with compressor component and assembly drawing and able to read and interpret as required.
  • Familiarity with the usage of compressors in the natural gas and process industries is desired.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Problem-solving skills to address project challenges and ensure timely completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), CRM and SAP
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to safety, customer service quality and to work in team-oriented environment
  • Travel is required along with potential on-site work at our customer locations in support of projects  throughout the U.S.

 

 Physical Demands:

  • Clear and effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • Employee must be physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as stipulated by local, state or federal agencies and/or COOPER Machinery Services and customer policies, as required.
  • Exposure to smells and fumes associated with natural gas products.
  • Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting project sites.
  • Field activities may include walking to and amidst work and/or construction sites, working around heavy equipment, negotiating rough terrain, areas of loose rock, etc.
  • Field work frequently involves getting dirty, sweaty, dusty, and hot, especially during summer months.
  • Travel to remote areas within a particular region may involve extended periods of driving.
  • Extended periods of sitting may be required for administrative activities.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs/ladder.
  • Will require standing for long periods, sitting, squatting, etc.
  • Frequent use of a computer for emails, reports, and project management software.
