Hotel Lead Houseperson $28.00 per hour
Commerce Casino & Hotel is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Houseperson to join our dedicated housekeeping team. The Lead Houseperson plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our hotel, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for our guests. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform thorough deep cleaning of guest rooms, kitchen and public areas, including but not limited to scrubbing floors, cleaning carpets, washing windows, painting and polishing fixtures.
- Execute specialized cleaning tasks for various surfaces and materials.
- Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards.
- Assure cleanliness of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public vending areas.
- Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors. Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guest room doors, and elevator doors.
- Vacuum, sweep, and/or mop hallways, stairwells, vending areas, and foyers.
- Lead and participate in various special projects, such as painting, minor repairs, and furniture moving, as needed to maintain and improve hotel facilities.
- Providing guidance and training to others on proper cleaning techniques, equipment usage, and adherence to hotel standards, fostering a cohesive and high-performing team.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience Required:
- Proven expertise in specialized floor cleaning, including but not limited to marble, hardwood, and carpet surfaces.
- Demonstrated experience with deep cleaning techniques and the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards in commercial or hospitality settings.

- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Can communicate well with guests.
- Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers using empathy
- Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
- Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, and stand and walk public areas for extended periods of time.
- Be able to lift/pull/push up to 50 pounds. Anything over 50 pounds you need to request assistance
- Ability to understand and follow directions and perform job functions under limited supervision.
