The Marketing and Advertising Assistant Manager plays a critical role in the successful execution of Commerce Casino’s marketing initiatives. This position supports the Marketing and Advertising Manager by supervising team members, managing vendor relations, coordinating creative and promotional campaigns, overseeing content and signage deployment, and ensuring compliance with brand and regulatory standards. The role bridges strategy and execution, ensuring alignment across departments and enhancing guest engagement through cohesive marketing efforts.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Marketing Oversight & Coordination
1. Oversee daily marketing operations, campaigns, and cross-departmental communications.
2. Oversee all media content distribution, including newsletters, social media efforts, and creative materials, ensuring brand consistency.
3. Coordinate and implement advertising programs including creative development, timelines, and brand compliance.
4. Manage media content distribution, internal and external signage, and support creative production for digital, print, and property-wide materials.
5. Create and edit advertising copy to meet regulatory and branding guidelines.
6. Prepare the casino’s monthly marketing deck and event calendars.
Campaigns, Events & Promotions
1. Support the development of marketing campaigns across digital, print, and event platforms.
2. Coordinate with the Design Team for promotional material creation, including certificates, cash/prize vouchers, branded items, and special promotions.
3. Collaborate with F&B, Hotel, and Casino Operations departments for integrated marketing efforts (e.g., tournaments, watch parties, seasonal campaigns).
4. Act as a liaison ensuring timely promotion of events across website, social platforms, and in-property displays.
5. Oversee set design and property décor for holidays and special events.
6. Manage the timely installation of all internal casino signage and external advertising materials.
Website & Media Management
1. Maintain the casino website, ensuring content is accurate, current, and compliant (e.g. DOJ, BGC, MICS, Internal Audit, and ADA).
2. Manage Marketing calendar.
3. Plan and maintain landing page to feature past and upcoming events.
Vendor & Budget Management
1. Manage relationships with agencies and vendors.
2. Source, negotiate, and oversee delivery of promotional items.
3. Generate purchase orders, check requests, and monitor invoice processing.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
1. Provide training, feedback, and performance guidance to team members.
2. Participate in weekly and monthly quality control audits and floor checks.
3. Collaborate with leadership to establish KPIs and content-sharing strategies.
4. Act as back-up to Marketing Manager in their absence, handling inquiries, complaints, and quick decision-making as needed.
Other Responsibilities
1. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Marketing Manager to support departmental and organizational goals.
2. Understand and follow departmental and Company policies and procedures.
3. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with departmental and company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience Required: A minimum of three years of marketing, advertising agency, public or community relations experience. Solid experience in administration, project coordination, effective communication, documentation, and reporting.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, public/community relations or equivalent combination of work experience and education required.
Licenses:
⦁ A casino work permit from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
⦁ The Marketing and Advertising Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the Marketing Managers department processes. Regarding the supervision of employees, however, this position is limited to making suggestions or recommendations regarding the staff to the Director of Guest Experience, who holds a Key Employee or Officer License. The Director of Guest Experience is the position that makes managerial decisions on behalf of Marketing Managers department. The Marketing and Advertising Assistant Manager understands and acknowledges he/she cannot take any action that would require a Key Employee license.
Other Requirements:
1. Must be organized, detail oriented, have the ability to safeguard confidential information.
2. Must be proficient in Microsoft 365, including proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneNote; general knowledge of Excel.
3. Must have excellent and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrably high emotional intelligence, customer service, and relationship building skills.
4. Ability to meet scheduled and/or flexible deadlines with minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
5. Ability to stand and walk the entire shift, excluding breaks and meal periods, when necessary.
6. Able to lift over 20 lbs.
7. Outstanding attendance/punctuality.
8. Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule, to include evenings, weekends and holidays, and attend off-property events on behalf of the company when necessary.
9. Must have and/or obtain a Gaming License.
