What you will do:
We are looking for a SENIOR DIRECTOR OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCE who can help shape our vision and support our mission. Here is what the position will look like.
Senior Director Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic direction and oversees the management and maintenance of multiple department deliverables striving for operational excellence (productivity, quality, SLAs, customer experience of services provided, etc.). Builds high performing teams with vision, leadership, goals and metrics. Serves as a role model for team members; takes action and inspires team members to embrace and implement culture initiatives. Provides awareness to department leaders and staff how their work impacts other departments, programs and the enterprise. Encourages collaboration and holds team members accountable for achieving outstanding results.
- Responsible for all management functions including: hiring, training, planning and directing work, coaching and staff development, managing and evaluating performance, recognizing and rewarding employees, corrective action procedures and practices, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Develops and manages multiple department budgets.
- Works closely with Directors across the organization to make tactical and operational decisions that advance company strategies and goals and collaborates to deliver on company-wide deliverables/requirements.
- Oversees/leads projects and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple departments and/or cross-functional teams.
- Oversees the development and implementation of multiple department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company policies, rules and regulations.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead all core Human Resource functions including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance evaluation, progressive total rewards program (compensation and benefits), leave and unemployment programs, HRIS systems, compliance, and people operations communications.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and partners closely with Legal and Compliance departments to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations for all HR functions.
- Design and evolve people strategies that align with organizational goals, meet legal and regulatory requirements, and promote fair, consistent, and transparent practices across the organization
- Lead and support inclusive practices and a focus on wellness are embedded at every stage of the employee journey, while partnering organization-wide to build a workplace culture rooted in belonging and shared commitment.
- Serve as a key advisor to senior leaders, translating organizational needs into person-centered solutions that are both practical and innovative. Provides guidance on managing complex employee relations matters. Counsel and advise managers with interpretation and application of policies and procedures to resolve issues related to disciplinary actions, investigations, and conflict resolution. Escalates issues as necessary to the Chief People and Talent Development Officer, consulting with internal or third-party legal counsel as appropriate.
- Oversee HR systems and technologies to improve service delivery, reporting, and strategic decision-making
- Leverage Human Resources data, employee engagement results, and insights around people-centeredness and belonging—in addition to employee feedback and dialogue—to guide meaningful culture improvements, inform strategic decisions, and measure progress and impact over time.
- Encourage experimentation, learning, and innovation in people leadership, while anchoring efforts in accountability and alignment with organizational values
- Develops and maintains supporting Human Resources policies and procedures, manager and employee handbooks. Provides Human Resources policy guidance and interpretation to managers and employees and conducts related manager training.
- Partners with the Chief People and Talent Development Officer in the development and implementation of a company succession plan for key leadership positions.
What you will bring:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent combination of experience and/or education may substitute with a preference for seven years progressive relevant work experience.
Experience: Minimum of ten years of Human Resources experience with an emphasis in employee relations, compensation and benefits, recruitment and prior management experience required. Human Resources experience in a managed care or healthcare field is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proven ability to design and lead people systems that are both compliant and culture-enhancing. Deep understanding of employment law, HR compliance, and organizational risk. Demonstrated success in embedding inclusion, belonging, and employee wellness into people systems and strategy. Excellent communication, coaching, and change leadership skills. Experience influencing and advising senior leaders. Extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to human resource functions required. Thorough understanding of employee relations, talent acquisition, employee benefits and compensation and related “best practices” required. A strong working knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems desired. Strategic business planning, change management, people management and project management skills required. Demonstrates support for the company’s mission, vision and values. Position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to develop strategic partnerships and work with all levels of staff. Requires exemplary customer service skills and ability to identify problems, research alternatives and resolve them. Must have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Requires excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) with strong working knowledge of HRIS systems.
Licenses/Certifications: SHRM/HRCI certification preferred. A valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance will be required for any position requiring driving.

Pay, Perks and Benefits at Colorado Access:
The compensation for this position is $170,600.00 to $211,300.00 annually. Colorado Access has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Colorado Access may pay for the position at the time of posting. Colorado Access may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

Where you will work:
This position will be a hybrid model work environment, a blend of ‘In-Office’ and ‘Remote.’
