Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, provides compassionate home care, facility based, and inpatient hospice services to our patients and their families. Our home care coverage area spreads throughout several counties in Western Pennsylvania with inpatient locations in Wexford, Cabot, and Beaver. The Good Samaritan Hospice team works together to provide relief through pain control and symptom management, while offering emotional, social and spiritual support for the patient and family. Good Samaritan Hospice is seeking a dynamic Hospice Clinical Manager in support of the mission and for the continued growth of our hospice agency.
The Clinical Manager will contribute to the overall success of our organization by ensuring operational goals are met on a daily basis. The selected candidate will oversee our inpatient units and hospice field clinicians. The Manager will be responsible to oversee the day-to-day delivery of patient/family services, ensuring appropriate and timely care in accordance with state and federal regulations. The Manager will establish operational objectives, assist in the development of goals and contribute to the long-term growth and viability of hospice services. Our leaders ensure that we are providing high quality, cost-effective care with careful consideration for our patients.

QUALIFICATIONS for the Clinical Manager position:
- Bachelor degree in nursing or related field recommended.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania required
- Minimum of three [3] years experience in a supervisory capacity in hospice and/or home care preferred
- Must demonstrate progressive administrative ability; knowledge of hospice and palliative nursing; quality measures and standards of practice; Medicare regulations; laws and regulations pertaining to hospice
- Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures in the hospice setting
- Solid computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Reliable independent means of transportation with a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and at least the minimum state required vehicle insurance
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES for the Clinical Manager Position:
- Oversees the day to day delivery of patient/family services ensuring appropriate and timely care in compliance with hospice policy and federal, state and local regulations
- Supervises field staff and Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) team members to achieve quality care, meet productivity and team utilization best practice, and facilitate strong team support
- Works closely with the Director of Clinical Operations, Executive Director and Human Resources to assure a strong team and adequate staffing and retention
- Works closely with the QAPI Supervisor to remain updated with state and federal standards and regulations for licensure and hospice certification
- Assists in the development of hospice policies and monitors compliance in areas of responsibility
- Demonstrates an understanding of the QAPI process, hospice policies and procedures, and participates in projects when requested
- Provides guidance in communication, coordination, and effective operations relating to patient/family care
- Collaborates with the Hospice Educator/Mentor to ensure new employee orientation and education is facilitated and completed to promote staff satisfaction and retention, as well as excellent patient/family care and IDG utilization
- Completes all computer and/or paper documentation requirements within the timeframes specified
- Participates in required on-call responsibilities
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and other related activities when required
- Completes required in-services; ensures all required continuing education credits are obtained for licensure renewal
- Commits to high ethical standards and complies with the Code of Conduct, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and Good Samaritan Hospice policies and procedures; maintains confidentiality of patient and employee records and information; has a duty to report compliance concerns, significant legal risk questions, fraud, abuse, suspected or actual misconduct to the Executive Director and/or Compliance Manager
