Security and technology play a crucial role in our ability to deliver best-in-class insurance products. We’re seeking a curious person with a passion for security to join our IT Security & Compliance Team as a Cyber Security Engineer. You would play a pivotal role in identity solutions for our employees, agents, and policyholders. Our mission is to produce a constantly optimized risk identification and mitigation cycle while supporting our critical technology solutions in which identity is a core fundamental component. We do this through threat modeling, strategic prioritization, and data-driven decision-making from security analytics.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develops and executes security controls, defense, and countermeasures to prevent attacks or attempts to infiltrate company devices.
- Utilizes digital forensics tools to investigate any possible incidents.
- Configures and validates any forensics tools to reduce false positives for intrusion and enable us to detect and respond quicker in case of a compromise
- Provides expert technical advice within IT / Forensics cyber incident table top exercises.
- Performs root cause analysis, conducts threat analysis, and determines an action plan to remediate any risks identified.
- Performs security assessments of end points using penetration and vulnerability testing.
- Provides technical advice to optimize patch resolution workflows.
- Manages and improves processes and tools which provide Identity Management and Access control configurations.
- Manages security processes and tools which oversee authentication and data communication within Central’s infrastructure.
- Conducts penetration testing for exploitable weaknesses within Central infrastructure.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science and 2 years of related experience
- Or 4 years of related experience
- Creativity and passion for cyber security
- Curious mind and strong desire to constantly learn.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly explain security risks to any audience.
- Ability to weigh risks, calculate the costs on a course of action, and propose the optimal path toward mitigation.
- Capable of building and maintaining security KPI metrics to prioritize activities.
- Expert knowledge in security best practices within End Point Management.
- Demonstrated skill in utilizing EDR tools.
- Proven expertise of DLP techniques.
- Maximizes the use of computer forensics tools, workflows, and practices.
- Capable of participating within table top exercises at the IT or Corporate level.
- Complete knowledge of Patch Management deployment procedures and creating Patch Compliance KPI metrics.
- Knowledgeable with risk assessment methodology.
- Experience with Nessus Scanning or other vulnerability management tools.
- Proven experience with account management workflows and access control best practices.
- Expert security knowledge related to encryption, network design, firewalls, SIEM, file transfer protocols, and cloud services.
- Knowledgeable and experienced in penetration testing exercises.
- Ability to understand Central Insurance’s policies and processes
