Information Technology - Data Engineer Seasonal Intern
JOB SUMMARY:
The Data Engineering Intern will work closely with our experienced data engineering team to support the development, implementation, and optimization of data pipelines and systems. This role will contribute to the organization's ability to derive meaningful insights from healthcare data, ultimately improving the quality of care and services provided to our members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data Pipeline Development:
- Collaborate with the data engineering team to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for processing and transforming healthcare data.
Assist in the integration of data from various sources to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability.
- Data Modeling and Optimization:
- Contribute to the design and optimization of data models to support efficient storage and retrieval of healthcare data.
Work on performance tuning and optimization of existing data pipelines for enhanced efficiency.
- Data Quality Assurance:
- Support data quality initiatives by identifying and addressing data quality issues within the datasets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data validation and quality checks.
- Technology Evaluation and Implementation:
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies in data engineering and contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new tools and frameworks.
Participate in the development and maintenance of data engineering solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for data engineering processes, workflows, and data models.
Generate regular reports on the performance of health of data pipelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Familiarity with database management system (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling concepts.
- Basic programming skills, preferably in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A keen interest in healthcare data and a desire to contribute to improving healthcare outcomes.
