We are currently looking for a Vice President of Commercial Operations to work in our Houston, TX location.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Boardwalk Pipelines is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Vice President of Commercial Operations. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this executive role oversees all aspects of contract administration, customer service, pipeline scheduling, imbalance management, and related regulatory compliance across our natural gas transportation and storage assets. The successful candidate will bring a commercial and strategic lens to operational oversight, lead digital transformation efforts, and drive data-driven enhancements that support customer satisfaction and enterprise growth.
- Champion safety and operational reliability across all commercial functions.
- Ensure full compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations and reporting requirements.
- Shape and execute long-term commercial operations strategy aligned with enterprise goals.
- Monitor market trends and regulatory developments to proactively guide commercial adjustments.
- Oversee contract administration and manage all tariff-related inquiries.
- Lead customer service and scheduling efforts to improve customer satisfaction, focusing on best-in-class communication, accuracy, and transparency.
- Direct the commercial development and implementation of the company’s proprietary commercial system.
- Design and deploy data analytics to enhance insight-driven commercial strategies.
- Provide decisive leadership during system-critical events such as severe weather disruptions.
- Foster strong relationships with customers, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
- Develop, mentor, and retain top commercial operations talent to build a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate effectively across commercial, operational, and executive teams to ensure enterprise alignment.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in the natural gas industry.
- Deep expertise in FERC regulations, with proven success in implementing tariff provisions and developing new tariff services.
- Experience leading large organizations, including mentoring and developing talent, with experience leading both individual contributors and leaders.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.
- Strategic commercial acumen with the ability to navigate market dynamics and operational complexity.
- Experience in digital transformation, analytics, or technology systems that support commercial operations.
- Reputation for building trust with external partners and internal stakeholders.
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Previous or current experience in a commercial environment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelors Degree

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Accounting or Finance
