We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician/ Field Technician/ Sr. Field Technician to work in our Eunice, LA location.      

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all pipeline facilities in and around the Texas Gas Eunice Compressor Station. The successful candidate will be required to comply with all Company, DOT, OSHA, and Environmental rules and regulations. Individual will also be responsible for functioning within the Companies OMS process for documenting job tasks along with compliance activities as required. Occasionally required to perform unscheduled work after normal working hours. Position will be required to learn all pipeline ROW routes, handle all encroachment activities, as well as perform in a lead role to direct the actions of others, only after becoming fully qualified. Position will also be required to operate a natural gas compressor station, along with associated auxiliary equipment. Individual will need to be self-motivated, work with limited supervision, and participate in on-call duties for compressor station and areas natural gas pipeline system. Normal work hours for this position are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday – Friday, however this position is subject to occasional schedule adjustments as needed. 

This position's primary area of responsibility will be the Texas Gas Eunice Compressor Station, 1661 coulee rd. Eunice la, and surrounding Texas Gas pipelines.  The successful candidate will be required to reside within 30 miles of the Eunice Compressor Station to respond to call outs expediently. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Individual must have excellent communication skills, the ability to interact with all levels of personnel, as well as strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, strong ability for prioritizing, and scheduling multiple projects. This individual should also have experience with Microsoft programs as well as the ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • Physical requirements of the role include the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet to transfer tools and equipment. The ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns, and the ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments.
  • Valid Driver’s license, good driving record is required and the ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle.
  • Must have a strong commitment to personal and Team safety.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 4 (plus) years of natural gas operations and maintenance experience
  • More than 3 years of experience on pipeline operating systems and DOT 192 knowledge
  • Associate degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution Accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

 

  • High School Diploma / Equivalent

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

 

  • Technical School or College
