We are currently looking for a Sr. Analyst, BSA for our Houston, TX or Owensboro, KY office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The job purpose is to provide analytical expertise for the implementation and support of systems that meet the requirements of the Commercial area, for both gas and liquids, via active participation in a cohesive team.
- Assist in the conceptualization and development of solutions (hardware, software, processes) that support business requirements
- Elicit, analyze, specify and validate the business needs of project stakeholders; including interviewing stakeholders and compiling user requirements to convey to development teams throughout phases of the software development lifecycle
- Work within an Agile team, preferably as a Solution Owner, that utilizes standard sprint ceremonies and manages work via the use Jira (or an equivalent tool)
- Collaborate with the appropriate parties, such as vendors, business users, or members of IT, to resolve problems or investigate opportunities as needed
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams and/or charges based upon user requirements to provide direction to other team members
- Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure that project deliverables meet required specifications
- Ensure all required system and compliance documentation is complete and accurate
- Develop and utilize standard templates to document / review business requirements and technical specifications
- Escalate support and project issues to Lead and/or IT management teams as they arise
- Provide data and input for generation of statistics and reports for management and/or team members to represent status of initiatives
- For assigned projects:
- Lead the definition, development and documentation of business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and department
- Serve in the role of Project Manager and utilize Boardwalk IT project management standards
- Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects and system requirements
- Generate and compile reports based on analytical findings, complete with probable cause and possible system issues
- Design, develop and perform test plans/cases to ensure that the system or application functions as specified
- Collaborate with business users and other team members to prioritize outstanding issues, enhancement
- requests and projects on routine basis
- Participate in special projects and/or initiatives as needed, which could be project management for small,
- medium, or large initiatives
- Research latest industry practices and technology trends to assist lead with providing advice to clients and
- members of the IT organization
- Work with IT management, as directed, to foster vendor relationship and participate in management of any
- contractual relationship terms, such as support pool hours and scope designation
- Participate in on-call support rotation, as required for functional applications supported
- Participate in the development or review of application training materials required to provide to the user
- community with a solid understanding of the functionality available to meet the business requirements and
- conduct training sessions, as needed
- Assist in building an application support knowledgebase by documenting issues reported by users and the
- associated resolution process as requested by senior team members
- Record, track and document the problem-solving process utilized while researching alternatives to resolve
- issues reported by users
- Perform post-implementation follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved
- Participate in the development and execution of business continuity processes as requested by senior team

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years minimum of in-depth, hands-on knowledge of developing/supporting enterprise applications
- 5 years working technical knowledge of project management methodologies
- 3 years minimum of hands-on experience working in integrated development environments
- Extensive experience with business requirements gathering and documentation
- Proved experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and software issue resolution techniques
- Solid working knowledge of current technologies
- Ability to conduct, compile and present research in the following area(s): software development and delivery concepts, application testing strategies, project management methodology trends
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Agile team experience – Solution Owner role
- Experience with specific phases and general knowledge of the entire software development life cycle
- Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
- Broad knowledge of programming languages and techniques
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws, as well as industry specific regulations, such as FERC, NAESB, DOT, SOX, etc.
- Knowledge of TSA Security Directives
- Demonstrated ability in developing application specification and requirements documentation
- Knowledge of technology trends related to software application development and support
- Experience with commercial applications in natural gas / liquids midstream segment
- Strong knowledge of Jira, TestRail
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- College or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or related field of study, or 4 – 6 years equivalent work experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
- Certifications applicable to the position are desirable
