We are currently looking for an E&I Specialist/ Sr. E&I Specialist to work in our Boling, TX office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The responsibilities of this position are to perform installation, maintenance and repairs for electronic, electrical and pneumatic equipment and controls associated with the Wilson Compressor station. This position will also assist with operations and maintenance of the compression facilities including operating compressors and auxiliary equipment, assisting with mechanical repairs, etc. and be part of the area on-call rotation. This position will also assist at other area facilities as needed. The chosen candidate will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, as well as emergency response.
This position will include, but not be limited to:
- Participate in installing all instrumentation and electrical components safely.
- Troubleshoot and repair problems with control systems and instrumentation associated with gas reciprocating and turbine engines & compressors, generators, and other auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshoot problems with all electrical power systems up to 480 systems and associated equipment.
- Run conduit, pull wire, change motors, maintain lighting systems and basic motor controls.
- Maintain and basic troubleshooting for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to maximize use of control technology and minimize installation and operating costs.
- Maintain advanced monitoring devices (gas & fire detectors, vibration and temperature/pressure/flow monitors).
- The ability to read P&ID and electrical diagrams and other complex electrical drawings.
- Interpret plant electrical diagrams.
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain end devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, air/fuel controllers, panel boards, etc.
- Perform preventative and general maintenance on electrical, electronic and pneumatic equipment.
- Provide training and technical support.
- Qualified candidates must live within 30 miles of the Wilson Compressor Station facilities in the Boling, TX, in order to respond to call outs expediently.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 year of electrical and instrumentation experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, control and instrumentation is required.
- Experience in engine controls and associated equipment.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and a history of safe work are required.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, muddy and wet environments and ability to stand for long periods of time along with the ability to climb and work at various heights.
- Ability to utilize and carry 50 pounds for a minimum of 50 feet and ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record with no restrictions. Chosen candidate will be required to maintain an LA Class D license.
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5 (plus) years of electrical and instrumentation experience.
- Natural gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience is a plus.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
- 2-year A.S. Degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution Accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies.
