PBX Technician

GC&E Federal is seeking a PBX Technician for a contract position in Atlanta to maintain the PBX telephone system in a Campus environment. Candidate must have previous experience. 

Candidate will focus on PBX troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades of PBX equipment.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

• Monitor performance of Nortel/Avaya product line telecommunication system using remote alarm notification systems
• Perform end-user on-site support 
• Perform day to day operations and maintenance of PBX system and peripheral equipment to include paging and call accounting system.
• Maintain updates/revisions of documentation of manufacturer hardware/software associated with PBX equipment.
• Provide monthly reports of port count, card status to include bad ports, active and port availability, digital line card and analog message line waiting cards, and cards installed or moved.
• Pro-actively identifying issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams to help enhance current solutions.
• Perform routine maintenance in accordance with OEM documentation and best practices.
• Perform software updates to PBX system as required.
• Troubleshoot circuit problems.
• Update databases necessary for the operation of telephony system including all BARS, NARS, and CBT associated programming. 

Candidate Requirements:

• Nortel/Avaya PBX system experience 
• Microsoft 365 and associated applications (Teams, Excel, Word, and etc)
