Position Overview:
As a Receiver you will be responsible for managing the receipt, inspection and processing of all incoming products in a grocery store setting. You will be working with vendors to ensuring documentation is accurate and maintaining an organized inventory system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receiving and inspecting shipments, checking for accuracy, quality and conformity to purchase orders
- Documenting any discrepancies, damages, and or missing items and communicate with leadership to resolve issues
- Organizing received products ensuring they are stored properly based on commodity
- Updating inventory records within tracking systems to reflect accurate stock levels
- Conducting regular stock checks and updating inventory records
- Performing clerical duties such as data entry, filing and maintaining records such as purchase orders, inventory, deliveries etc
- Assisting in processing and fulfilling orders from various outlets or locations being serviced by the commissary
- Ensuring accuracy in order preparation and timely delivery of products
- Performing quality checks on received products and maintaining a high food quality level based on company specifications
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Communicating important information regarding orders, inventory and any other issues with the right leadership or parties
- Adhere to all company safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Environment:
- Ability to work in varying temperature-controlled environments.
Schedule:
- Flexibility to work various shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Experience:
- Preferred: Zero - One (0-1) year kitchen experience or relevant experience
- ServeSafe certification or comparable
Skills:
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
- Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
- Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
- Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
- Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
