Bay Cove pursues this mission by providing individualized and compassionate services to people facing the challenges associated with developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance use disorders, and homelessness at more than 175 program sites throughout Greater Boston and Southeastern Massachusetts. 

 

Job Summary:

The Investigation and Risk Management Specialist will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations and assessing risks in Bay Cove programs. This role will require an individual with investigative expertise and demonstrated knowledge of investigative best practices. A successful candidate will be able to develop and implement standardized investigation processes, train staff, and oversee ongoing investigations within the agency. An individual in this role would oversee the investigations related to alleged human rights, compliance, and privacy violations. Additionally, someone in this role should be familiar with risk identification and management of potential workplace and facility hazards. This role would be responsible for managing a tracking system of outstanding risks and working with the property department and program staff to coordinate resolutions. 

 

This is an exempt position.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role will oversee the Human Rights team’s investigations across all service areas.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct comprehensive investigations related to risk, compliance, and human rights within Bay Cove.

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to conduct investigations across the agency's administrative and service areas. 

  • Develop and implement a uniform investigation process based on industry best practices and legal standards.

  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risks to client safety, staff well-being, and organizational integrity. 

  • Train and mentor staff on investigation procedures, risk management protocols and compliance requirements. 

  • Oversee and coordinate investigations requested by external regulatory bodies and senior leadership.

  • Provide detailed reports and recommendations based on investigation findings and risk assessments.

  • Collaborate with leadership, clinical teams, and Director of Risk Management to ensure a proactive approach to risk management.

  • Create a reporting mechanism for facility risk, coordinating with property and program to fix deficiencies.

  • Audit investigation files and practices to ensure their integrity and compliance with best practices.

  • Travel to Bay Cove’s various programs throughout central and south-east Massachusetts.

Qualifications: 

  • Three (3) - five (5) years related experience;

  • High degree of personal organization, attention to detail, and time management skills

  • Able to work in person three (3) days per week in-person. Two (2) days per week remote.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite tools (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.)

  • Ability to work independently 

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Working Personal Vehicle
