Who we are:
AYSO United is AYSO's official club program. Our club allows players to enjoy more advanced play, participate in intense competition and receive cutting -edge training while still enjoying the benefits of AYSO and its Six Philosophies. At AYSO United, we model our program under US Soccer's Zone 1 initiatives that fall directly under our "Development over Winning" approach.
 
What you'll be responsible for:
AYSO United Designated Club (DOC Capacity), AYSO United Club DOC’s, AYSO United Coaches.
 
How you'll contribute:
Supporting the Technical Director and Director in developing and improving AYSO United DOC’s and Coaches so that players maximize their potential across all age groups in the AYSO United club network, in-line with the six philosophies.

Positive Coaching

1.    Support the Technical Director in reviewing, updating and developing coaching materials, curriculums, clinics, online coaching portal and best practice activities to meet the needs of AYSO United, consistent with the philosophies and intent of AYSO, U.S. Soccer and US Youth Soccer.

2.    Alongside the Technical Director, develop and publish AYSO United’s own written and visual coaching materials on the AYSO United coaching portal to provide continued professional development for coaches.

3.    When required, serve as the lead instructor and/or assistant instructor, whenever possible, for AYSO United clinics and expo’s. Promote attendance at all clinics through AYSO United club network.

4.    Write and publish materials for the AYSO United Coach Education Facebook account and any AYSO newsletters, if required.

5.    Host regular coaching webinars for AYSO United DOC’s and Coaches to update them on coaching methodologies and strategies in-line with the six philosophies.

6.    Maintain an updated list of AYSO United DOC’s and Coaches with their qualifications, in order to identify CPD opportunities and track coach development within the club network.

7.    Observe and evaluate DOC's and age group coaches across designated AYSO United club’s, as they deliver to their assigned age-group. Coach evaluations may take place either in person or electronically through submission of a recorded coaching session and session plan. 

8.    Promote, advertise and help coordinate all AYSO United club activities held locally, regionally and nationally.

9.    Stay up to date with all coaching methodologies, structures and pathways for benefit of AYSO United and in accordance with AYSO, U.S. Soccer and US Youth Soccer development models.

10.    Fulfil all Director of Coaching duties at designated AYSO United club (Southern California Training Location)

11.    Support the AYSO United Technical Director and Director in any other duties as required, for the development, growth and benefit of the AYSO United club network.

12.    Contributes to the club culture that is conducive to success and creates a positive player-centred environment that develops players and coaches, makes our members feel loyalty to the AYSO United organization and values player development instead of a culture that focuses solely on winning.

Player Development


1.    Support the Technical Director in the implementation of a national player development program including creation, development and roll out of age-appropriate curriculums.

2.    Work with the Technical Director in creating training models that can be delivered by all AYSO United coaches and are consistent across the national club network to ensure that all players are trained and developed the ‘AYSO United’ way.

3.    Explore player development strategies and methodologies that support and aid player development and enhance the experiences of players within the AYSO United club network.

4.    Support the Technical Director in the application of a player tracking system, from entry to graduation, within the AYSO United club network to monitor and evidence player development, contact hours and success of AYSO United graduates.

5.    With the Technical Director and Director, develop a style of play that all AYSO United teams will attempt to play and train towards in order to create the ‘AYSO United’ style of play, in-line with the six philosophies.

6.    Support coaches in creating a player-centred environment where AYSO United players are given responsibility for their own learning and are guided in their development to achieve success within the game.

Requirements:
 

-United DOC’s must hold a USSF “C” License or higher, and have a deep background in youth sports.
-United DOC’s will be required to attain AYSO Coach instructor status as well as strive to continue their coaching education.
-Must be able to prove eligibility to work in United States upon hire.
Any offer of employment and/or continued employment with AYSO is contingent upon applicant/employee’s ability to qualify as an AYSO volunteer.  As a result, applicants/employees must successfully pass a background check that conforms with the standards of AYSO’s National Criminal Background Check Policy.
