TheSenior Financial Analystis responsible for developing and performing financial analysis for all business lines of the company. This position will lead various financial planning and analysis processes and tasks, including but not limited to short and long term forecasting and budgeting, month end management reporting, and trend analysis. This role will work closely with Market Directors, General Managers, Payroll, HR, Marketing, Controllers, various Operations Teams, Store Business Managers, Corporate IT, and Internal Reporting team members.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

Assists and helps drive the planning and execution of the annual store-level operational budgeting & forecasting process

Develops, updates, and maintains month end reporting including ad hoc reports and analysis that includes budget comparison, forecast analysis, and store level expense analysis

Develops and performs detailed financial analysis including expense review, operational metrics, and monitoring business results with operational managers and stores

Supports the operations team thru reporting analysis and trend reporting as necessary

Reviews monthly/quarterly region, store and department financial results

Defines drivers of budget variances and ensures understanding of key drivers with manager

Presents financial analysis to inform management

Builds stand-alone business cases and financial models to assess the impact of investment opportunities

Recommends process improvements and serve on teams to design, redesign, and implement solutions and process changes

Provides customer service and support for financial end-users to effectively and accurately operate (i.e. General Managers in stores and operations managers in our markets)

Ad-Hoc financial analysis and other projects as needed to support business

Serves as an internal knowledgeable for financial/operational analysis

Supports cash management/liquidity forecasting process

Prepares materials for executive, officer, investor and board of directors’ presentations

Performs other related duties to benefit the mission/vision of the organization

 

Education & Experience

Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, business administration, math or engineering

MBA or MS in Finance required; CFA candidates highly desired

2-5 yeas of progressive work experience with an emphasis on financial and/or investment analysis; investment banking or consulting experience would be beneficial

Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Excel & PowerPoint

Familiarity with Hyperion suite of products; Hyperion Financial Management a plus

Understanding of regular and special financial statements including (but not limited to) balance sheets, budgets, forecasts, profit and loss statements; Experience in budget preparation and variance reporting

Advanced financial modeling using key metrics and drivers; Solid understanding of valuation and DCF concepts (NPV, IRR, DPP, etc.)

Superior analytical skills; draw conclusions from complex set of data

Handle several projects simultaneously

Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative

Understanding of accounting principles

Produce high quality work while under significant deadline pressure

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Ability to work extra hours occasionally during crunch time
