The Accounting Manager is directly responsible for supervising, mentoring and leading accounting staff while overseeing accounting department daily operations, including, accounts receivable, prepaids, accruals, intercompany, ledger maintenance, revenue, and asset accounting as well as associated analysis and reporting. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensures the company maintains compliance with accounting policy
  • Supervisory skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, train, coach, evaluate performance, and lead a staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Assists staff members in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting reports
  • Collaborates with internal and external auditors, as required, in their research of records
  • Reviews accounting procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Performs reconciliations of general ledger accounts
  • Analyzes financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting practices
  • Trains new hires and evaluating performance
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Assists external/internal auditors and provides required statements and information for the audit
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Maintains end of month check list
  • Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
  • Five years or more of related experience required
  • An understanding of General Accounting Principles
  • Proven experience working as an Accounting Supervisor
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Internal and External audit
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to process large amounts of numerical data
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products
