Join Our Team as SCA Food Service Lead!
We’re excited to welcome a SCA Food Service Lead to our dynamic team at The Arc of San Diego, where every day is an opportunity to serve with purpose. In this role, you’ll take the lead in managing daily operations at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Point Loma, helping us deliver up to 15,000 meals a day, 365 days a year. You’ll ensure top-tier food safety standards, support a smooth and efficient mess hall experience, and help create a positive, respectful dining environment for both clients and staff.

Full-Time Schedule:
Friday – Tuesday 3:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- Sunday: 4:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Note: Sunday shift begins one hour later than other days.)
Pay: The pay for this position is $23.80 to $23.80
- Member of the ITPEU Union

A typical day will include:
- Leading and supporting SCA Food Service Workers as they:
- Keep the mess hall, common areas, and loading docks clean, sanitized, and ready for service.
- Serve meals with care, efficiency, and a positive attitude.
- Training and mentoring new team members, helping them learn proper procedures and feel confident in their roles.
- Bridging communication between employer expectations and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities—empowering them to succeed and grow in their work.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Comfortable working in a high volume, mission-driven environment at our military site.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum six (6) months experience in high volume, fast paced, food service environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an MCRD Base Food Handler’s Card; training and certification provided upon hire and periodically thereafter.
- Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment and move up to 50 lbs. when needed.
- Comfortable wearing a uniform and taking pride in presenting a clean, professional appearance as part of a team.

- Have experience as a Job Coach and enjoy helping others grow and succeed in their roles.
- Are bilingual in English and Spanish, helping us better connect with and support our diverse community.
- Bring at least 6 months of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities—your compassion and understanding make a real difference.
