Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Job Schedule: Full Time

Weekly Hours: 40

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to oversee nursing services on the Anne Carlsen Jamestown campus. The Director of Nursing is responsible for ensuring the appropriate processes are in place to implement and deliver nursing care for the individuals residing on campus, maintaining the highest level of quality of care and programming, ensuring outcomes and quality measures are met or exceeded. The incumbent provides direct supervision, guidance, coaching and mentoring to the licensed nursing staff to implement the specific individual client’s programs, services and cares.  In addition, the Director of Nursing is responsible for Infection Control management and reporting for the campus in conjunction with the Medical Director.

 

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)

 

Education and/or years’ experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Unencumbered Registered Nursing license in North Dakota or ability to achieve
  • Two years of nursing leadership experience
  • Two years of experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities
  • APIC membership or ability to achieve

 

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Master’s degree in nursing, related healthcare field, or leadership
  • Five years of nursing leadership experience
  • Five years of experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities
  • Knowledge and experience with the state DD system
  • Knowledge and experience of positive behavioral support
  • Two years of budgeting experience

 

Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable): This position has the supervision responsibilities for Charge Nurses, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Graduate Nurses, Nurse Technicians, Respiratory Therapists, etc.
