SUMMARY

The Electrical Assembler I is responsible for assembling and installing electrical components and electromechanical products according to specifications, ensuring high-quality production and adherence to safety standards.  They work with various tools and machines to build electrical equipment, and schematics and engineering drawings are followed to ensure proper assembly.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Interpret blueprints and electrical/mechanical schematic drawings to correctly assemble electrical components such as wires, cables, contacts, connectors, switches, etc. 
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and automated assembly machines to wire electrical systems according to specifications, ensuring proper connections and adherence to safety standards.
  • Inspect parts for defects, damage, or inconsistencies before assembly and report any issues to lead/supervisors or quality control personnel.
  • Ensure all tools are in good working condition and all calibrated tools are updated with an active useable date before each working shift. Report any issues of the above to your lead/supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of batch-controlled parts during assembly for quality control and traceability.
  • Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to resolve technical issues and improve assembly processes.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives to enhance assembly techniques, streamline processes, and optimize efficiency.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in electrical assembly or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in the use of essential hand tools and calibrated equipment.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries favored.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • IPC, J-STD-001, J-ESD is a plus.
  • Will need to be certified within 3 months from the hire date.

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

 

JOB SKILLS

  • Comfortable using computers for data entry and online training. 
  • Must know how to use a tape measure/ruler, calipers, and basic hand tools.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and other software applications. 
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000, OSHA safety regulations, and quality management systems. 
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and components.
  • Basic understanding of interpreting technical documents, including diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in assembly work.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Reliable and flexible, willing to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders or special projects and meet organizational demands.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical requirements outlined below indicate those necessary to fulfill this position's core responsibilities. While performing job duties, the employee will regularly engage in activities such as using hands to finger, handle, or feel and communicating verbally. Additionally, the employee will frequently need to reach with hands and arms while standing and walking as part of the role. Occasional lifting and movement of objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds and using a ladder may be required. This position also demands specific vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
  • Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
  • Hearing protection in specific locations.
  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.

SALARY INFORMATION: 

According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $18 and $20 hourly. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline. When extending an offer, Carlisle Interconnect Technologies considers various factors such as the position's responsibilities, scope of work, candidate's work experience, education/training, essential skills, internal pay equity, and market considerations.
