Grant Manager

Position Summary:

The Grant Manager plays a critical role in securing philanthropic funding to support Albright College’s mission, programs, and strategic initiatives. This position is responsible for the full lifecycle of grant seeking—from prospect research and proposal development to submission, compliance, and reporting. The Grant Manager works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify funding opportunities, write compelling proposals, and ensure alignment with institutional goals and funder priorities.


Key Responsibilities:

Grant Development and Management

  • Identify, research, and evaluate private foundations, and government grant opportunities that align with Albright’s priorities.
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year grants calendar to track application and reporting deadlines.
  • Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports that effectively convey the College’s needs and impact.
  • Manage all post-award activities, including compliance, reporting, and internal coordination with Finance, program staff, and senior administration.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for grant-related inquiries both internally and externally.
  • Prepare grant reports that demonstrate responsible stewardship and articulate impact.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Slate, Albright’s constituent relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Track prospect research, proposal submissions, outcomes, and reporting obligations.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of grant writing and grant management experience, preferably in higher education or nonprofit fundraising.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of private and public funding sources relevant to higher education.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM systems, with specific experience in Slate preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience with federal and state grant opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success in securing grants of $50,000 or more.
  • Familiarity with higher education fundraising and advancement strategy.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary is commensurate with experience and competitive with peer institutions. This is a full-time, in-person position based on Albright’s campus in Reading, Pennsylvania.
