Part-Time Nurse
Position Summary
Albright College seeks a compassionate and organized Part-Time Nurse to support student health and wellness on campus. This position plays a critical role in coordinating care, managing minor health concerns, and serving as the on-site clinical liaison for our virtual healthcare partner, TimelyCare, which offers a ready clinic, general practitioner services, and mental health counseling. The nurse will work closely with the Vice President of Student and Campus Life, the Dean of Students and TimelyCare to ensure students have access to high-quality, holistic healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first aid, basic healthcare, and wellness support to students during on-campus hours.
- Assess and respond to minor injuries and illnesses; refer students to TimelyCare or off-campus providers as appropriate.
- Serve as the on-site contact for TimelyCare, coordinating student access and follow-up care.
- Maintain confidential health records in accordance with FERPA, HIPAA, and campus policies.
- Manage health supplies and oversee the cleanliness and readiness of the campus wellness space.
- Support wellness education initiatives and collaborate with Student Affairs on health promotion campaigns.
- Provide triage services and assist students in navigating virtual care platforms and scheduling follow-ups.
- Communicate effectively with campus stakeholders in the event of public health concerns or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate logs of student visits, care provided, and referrals made.
- Perform administrative duties as needed related to student health and immunization records.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a school, college, or outpatient setting.
- CPR/AED certification.
- Strong clinical judgment, discretion, and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency with electronic records and willingness to learn virtual care platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with young adults.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in public health, college health, or school nursing.
- Knowledge of adolescent and young adult health concerns.
- Familiarity with mental health resources and trauma-informed care.
Working Conditions
This position is based in the Student Health & Wellness Center on Albright College’s campus.
The nurse will work closely with a virtual care team and must be comfortable with telehealth coordination.
Some standing, walking, and lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required.
