Key     Objective(s):

                   The main purpose of the Aquatics Team Lead is:

  • To assist Aquatics Supervisors in the daily operations of the DreamWorks Water Park including the supervision of Water Park staff and providing guests with exceptional customer service.

 

           Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe work environment for both team members and guests through effective training, policies and procedures and analysis of incident reports.
  • Conduct effective and regular conversations with the aquatics staff to ensure individual development and goals are being met through company performance management tools.
  • Working in position while helping supervise and coordinating Lifeguards and facility staff to ensure that all staff are at their appropriate work stations.
  • Responding to major and minor first aid situations and monitor the first aid facility staff.
  • Occasionally performing administrative duties such as interviewing, new employee onboarding, accident investigations, and implement staff training programs and procedures.
  • Responding to guest concerns and special requests, while utilizing exceptional customer service and conflict resolution skills. Involving additional supervisory staff as required.
  • always Presenting a professional appearance and attitude and enforce safety rules and regulations.
  • Being actively involved in creating and maintaining a safe environment for all staff and guests.
  • Perform duties of “Head Guard” several shifts per week, assisting park supervisors in all aspects of park operation
  • Other supervisory duties as required.

 

           Desired Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age, personable, have good attendance and availability.
  • Outgoing and personable, with a commitment to excellence in public relations. Must be people oriented and have excellent communication skills that include speaking, writing, reading, and understanding of the English language.
  • Must be an outstanding leader with a commitment to teaching and mentoring peers and subordinates.
  • E&A Instructor license preferred (or willing to obtain)
  • Previous supervisory skills an asset
  • Experience working successfully with a variety of employees, including mentoring employees new to the workforce.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills complemented by team building and motivational abilities.
  • Safety-minded and can stay calm in emergency situations.

 

           Physical Job Requirements:

  • This is a full-time position that requires flexible availability Monday through Sunday including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a hot and humid environment and near water and chlorine. Potential hazards include water, chlorine, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
  • Complete all E&A Special Facilities prerequisite skills
  • Perform repetitive motion- Occasionally- 30% of time
  • Stand and move- Frequently 80% of time
  • Reach at, above or below shoulder level- Occasionally 40% of time.
  • Kneel and bend- Frequently 75% of time
  • Stoop/squat- Frequently 75% of time
  • Lift/carry between 10-76 lbs - Occasionally 20% of time
  • Able to work at heights between 35-200.
