POSITION SUMMARY:
- The IT Business Analyst reports to the Senior Manager, ERP Applications & Development
- Located in San Diego, CA

The ERP Systems Analyst will assume a lead role in partnering with business stakeholders to capture and quantify business challenges in order to design, develop, and deliver enterprise technology solutions. In this role, you will support various enterprise systems enabling world class distribution sales operations and related critical business activities. The ERP Systems Analyst will assist with the identification and development of business technology solutions to facilitate business functions. The successful candidate will be able to communicate and translate business requirements to development teams, while also understanding the base logic of the applications and systems required to meet the needs of the business. Additionally, this role help will support the organization on data extraction and reporting activities. This is a highly visible and influential role that supports a number of critical business functions. This position requires strong knowledge of both business process and technology to drive IT solutions that align with TriMark’s business objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead IT point of contact working with business partners to assess requirements and help identify best fit solutions that will deliver expected results.
- Ensure timely development and ongoing maintenance of company ERP system and supporting business applications.
- Elicit business requirements, while advising on best practices, resulting in transactional data mapping designs and customer specifications.
- Perform as liaison between Business functional teams, IT Application Support, IT Development and DBA teams on system issues, enhancements and projects.
- Design and assist in solution development projects through a combination of system analysis, specification and interpretation, EDI strategies and execution of service.
- Serve as the primary technical (EDI) contact for customer accounts, including facilitating all necessary communication internally and with external stakeholders.
- Report writing and query creation in relation to ERP source system data.
- Extract, consolidate, and map data obtained from various systems and sources
- Design reports and perform analysis for business requests and application support needs.
- Acts as the primary contact point for IT engagement and escalations for ERP support needs, and enhancement requests.
- Assist with install, maintenance, and administration of ERP related software and systems.
- Detailed documentation for system enhancements and business cases assisting enhancement requests.
- Support issues related to data anomalies, reporting errors, system integrations, and automation.
- Assist in coordination of ERP testing and release processes.
- Partner with Enterprise Application and Infrastructure leadership in defining, maintaining, and publishing future state system roadmaps. Competencies, Skills and Abilities.
- High degree of knowledge with Business Analysis competencies (requirements elicitation and management, business process mapping, data flow modeling, functional specifications, and test scenarios).
- In-depth knowledge of analyzing database table structures for data mapping/manipulation/management.
- Ability to create/build custom procedures/functions/views/reports.
- Excellent analytical ability to quickly gather facts, perform root cause analysis and draw conclusions in collaboration with other team members.
- Requires the ability to manage and work on multiple complicated projects & assignments within tight timelines and work streams at one time.
- Ability to influence others to achieve results.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years supporting and analyzing ERP systems and Business applications.
- Experience with InforSX, Total Warehouse Logistics (TWL), Progress OpenEdge DBMS, Hyperion/Oracle BI, SQL, and PowerBI preferred.
- Experience working with EDI documents in ANSI x12/EDIFACT (810) file formats.
- Working in Distribution related industry preferred (Purchasing, Warehouse, and Transportation).
- Working with system integrators, managed service providers, and external consultants preferred.
- Experience translating business problems into IT solutions via logical and abstract thinking.
- Extensive experience with business analysis, quality assurance, and resource management methodologies and best practices.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and or Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with Tableau and/or Alteryx is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.
In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s’ benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
