Summary/Purpose

Responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting assembly and inspection equipment to ensure parts meet customer specifications. Includes the removal and installation of tooling for different part numbers, and support of continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

• Maintain and continuously improve a 5S system focused on safety, housekeeping, quality, and efficiency.
• Set up and operate assembly and inspection machines per customer specifications.
• Set up and operate gauges to verify part conformity.
• Troubleshoot machines, tooling, and gauging equipment to resolve issues with non-conforming products.
• Follow and apply reaction plans to address quality issues.
• Make machine adjustments to maintain required tolerances.
• Perform material handling using manual and powered industrial trucks.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills (assessment required).
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask and complete diverse responsibilities accurately.
• Willingness and ability to obtain internal walkie/forklift license.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated initiative in previous roles.
• Flexibility to work varied hours or respond to call-ins as needed.

Education and Experience: 

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous mechanical experience is required

• Work is performed in a normal manufacturing area.
• This position has an exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical power distribution and controls, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, steam distribution and generation, water, various types of lubricants, chemical and wash baths, extreme heat, mechanical machine operation, etc.
• Will be regularly required to climb, stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms. 
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
• This position requires regular lifting of work up to 40 pounds, and push or pulling work up to 125 pounds with proper equipment.

Employee may perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
