Summary/Purpose

 

  • Responsible for facilitating, coordinating, leading and implementing tasks and activities associated with new product implementation, line improvements, including planning, designing, fabricating, setting up, modifying, optimizing and monitoring processes to achieve the key business initiatives.
  • Work with Quality, Production and Engineering in process design improvements.
  • Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.

 

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

 

  • Identifies process problems and repairs, redesigns and/or fabricates defective parts for plant production.
  • Communicates and schedules repairs with Production Control.
  • Operate forklift as necessary.
  • Active participant in Quality, Safety and Production Improvement teams.
  • Performs and maintains General Housekeeping.
  • Follows all Safety rules and serves as a safety role model for team members.
  • Key player in the repairs, improvements and upgrades for Production equipment.
  • Ability to disassemble, assemble, and convert/upgrade Production equipment as required.
  • Regularly inspect Production equipment and schedule necessary preventative maintenance or line upgrades to improve upon the function of line processes.
  • Ability to identify and work with contractors to repair, install, remove and or upgrade equipment.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Creative thinker who is detail oriented and is able to make/read Blueprints, design and fabricate upgrades to Production processes.
  • Basic knowledge of facility and production equipment, materials and products.
  • Demonstrated safe leadership, project management, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Oracle and TMS

 

 

 

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years Welding/Design/Fabrication Experience (Stick, Mig, and Tig Welding Experience a must).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Technical degree in Maintenance Field preferred.

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

 

  • Must be willing to work overtime hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to stand on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors and in hot and cold environments.
