Summary/Purpose
|
Develop and implement a planning process into all Maintenance functions by coordinating all aspects of assigned projects as well as support on other projects and maintenance repair work. Develop a program that is integrated within the fabric of the Maintenance function to ensure it can be sustained over time.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
|
- Plans and schedules the work of maintenance by receiving, reviewing and processing all requests for plant maintenance work.
- Reviews work request to verify that necessary entries have been made and that work requested is stated clearly and legibly. If necessary, and practical, obtains additional information from the originator and/or physically views conditions and record better description of work to be performed.
- Determines the resources required to perform work including methods, manpower, materials, special tools and equipment, clearances, time requirements, and use of outside services. When necessary, prepares supplemental work orders, sketches, and other appropriate information concerning job requirements. Prepares detailed plans for accomplishing the work.
- Use technical manuals, instruction books, prints, sketches, manufacturers’ data, and equipment history records to assist in the preventive planning process.
- Determines material availability and if required, originate store request and/or purchase requisitions. Maintains follow-up records.
- Consults with maintenance supervisors, production control, engineering and production operations when necessary to plan work properly.
- Develops preventive maintenance and lubrication instruction sheets, and routes and administers scheduling and compliance PM formats.
- Applies standard times to all maintenance work, using engineered time standards, including work order tasks and all scheduled preventive maintenance and lubrication routes. Reviews additional work on jobs after started and when necessary re-applies standard times to reflect changed job requirements.
- Determines total estimated costs for jobs, prior to work beginning, and refers to proper authority based upon established limits.
- Reviews work orders with maintenance supervisor(s) to assure that they are aware of prescribed methods, standard allowed times and description of work.
- Validates standard times for new categories of work and maintains consistent accuracy in applying data.
- Become advanced through experience on the CMMS and drive its use for optimized output and service throughout all areas of the factory.
- Reviews, writes, and schedules all preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Manages workflow including Management level sign-off when production will not make machine available according to the preventive maintenance schedule.
- Maintain metrics of Maintenance performance including the use of visual management techniques to demonstrate equipment scheduled for PM during daily Fast Response.
- Accurate report generation for management to measure reliability of equipment base.
- Maintain a critical equipment list including inventory of critical equipment replacement parts.
- Track cost of equipment downtime and maintenance.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
|
- Individual should be a self-starter with a high degree of initiative and personal responsibility and attention to detail.
- Must be able to effective and efficiently plan labor and material to execute projects and/or maintenance repair work.
- Should have good computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Should have good analytical ability
- Should have either mechanical or electrical experience in both repair and installation of equipment and a good knowledge of equipment.

Education and Experience:
|
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and/or five to seven years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
