Summary/Purpose

JTEKT North America is seeking a Full Time internship or Co-op to assist Direct Material Purchasing team with Project Management activities related to the two projects listed below:

 

 

TFT3 Project:

  • Identify Top 5 Suppliers by Each BOM
  • Develop a 5 Year Pricing Trend (2019 thru 2024) for all components with Top 5 Suppliers
  • Identify Opportunities for Cost Improvement/Recovery

 

Develop Summary of Cost Factors by Commodity: (Raw Material, Exchange, Labor, Energy, etc):

  • Develop worksheet that would allow PU to identify impact of a change in pricing
  • Develop a Quarterly Report To Be Sent To Leadership

 

 

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

  • This position requires a high level of professional competency and skills sufficient to perform some lower level activities that would normally be performed by Direct Material Buyers.
  • Work with Buyers to Identify Top 5 Suppliers by each TFT3 BOM
  • Develop a 5 Year Pricing Trend (2019 thru 2024) for all components with Top 5 BOM Suppliers
  • Analize Pricing History and Identify Components with Cost Improvement/Recovery Opportunities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager.

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to work well under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and maintain the highest legal and ethical standards.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.

 

Education and Experience:

  •  Preferred concentration in either Accounting, Auto Engineering, Management, Mech Engineering, Financial Management

  • Visually read reports, computer screen, etc.
