Job Summary

 

The Associate Business Systems Analysts acts as first level support for The Hillman Group’s business applications including the primary ERP system (JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1), the supply chain application (GAINS), and the warehouse management systems (WM/PkMS). Additionally, this role supports senior members of IT in testing and documentation of critical enterprise initiatives. This is an entry level position and not expected to have prior experience nor be knowledgeable of the E1-JDEdwards disciplines utilized by The Hillman Group (e.g. General Ledger, Warehouse Management, License Plating, Distribution, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, etc.).

 

This employee needs to have a general business background and must have a strong aptitude and desire to learn new concepts, business processes and have a foundational understanding of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange). They are expected to develop into a senior level position over time, to follow and execute test scripts designed to validate the ERP process being implemented, and to assist in the development of documentation and training materials and needs to be comfortable working in a team environment.

 

Essential Job Functions *

 

  • Business Analysis
  • Under the guidance of more senior level Functional Analysts, execute test scripts and cases to validate ERP functionality
  • Produce documentation outlining test cases
  • Support testing by identifying, tracking, reporting and resolving issues in timely manner
  • Manage time, utilize system tools and resources effectively, and provide timely status reports to management
  • Take ownership of a task on a project. Complete project tasks on or before agreed upon deadlines
  • Produce and update project documentation/deliverables to be used across the organization
  • Training/Support/Documentation
  • Assist in the development of training materials and documentation
  • Assist in user training under the guidance of more experienced staff
  • Assist in production support under the guidance of more experienced staff
  • Assist in maintaining existing documentation
  • Serve as a mentor to new teammates and foster a collaborative work environment
  • Problem Solving
  • Creative or critical thinking on processes or system issues
  • Utilize provided resources and documentation to research and resolve issues independently
  • Understand when to escalate production issues to senior members of IT and beyond
  • Research and resolve issues under the guidance of more experienced staff – be a problem solver

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business or IT related field
