Product Data Specialist
Job Summary
The Product Data Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining critical product information throughout the product lifecycle. This role serves as the cornerstone for product data integrity across multiple systems, ensuring accurate product information is available for internal stakeholders and external channels. The specialist works cross-functionally to collect, organize, standardize, and distribute product data that supports business operations and decision-making.
Essential Job Functions *
- Product Data Management
- Initiate new item creation and setup in enterprise systems
- Process master item set up (MIST) submissions and manage part number assignment/creation
- Maintain Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems by connecting technical information to items through bill of materials / relationship linkage
- Manage Product Information Management (PIM) data for downstream consumption
- Ensure data consistency across interconnected systems and databases
- Data Creation and Integration
- Extract and transform product information from various sources including company personnel, technical documentation, websites, e-commerce platforms, and validation reports
- Collect and standardize product specifications through collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Convert technical drawings into structured product data within product data hub systems
- Create and modify product bills of materials (BOMs) and maintain PLM relationships
- Develop and execute Excel macros or equivalent tools to automate data population in Oracle PLM environments
- Implement quality control measures to verify data accuracy and completeness
- Process Management
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures for data management processes
- Prioritize workload to maximize efficiency while adapting to changing business priorities
- Independently manage assigned projects with minimal supervision
- Implement data automation solutions for routine tasks
- Working with IT and Data Governance, design and execute bulk data upload approaches for large-scale projects (e.g., acquisitions)
- Estimate task/project timelines and document outcomes for future reference
- System Support and Administration
- Provide direction and troubleshooting for PLM and Product Data Hub (PDH) systems
- Serve as backup support for management when needed
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of item attribution and its business impact
- Archive project data according to company policies and industry regulations
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to implement data governance best practices

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working experience in product data management, preferably in the consumer products industry
- Advanced proficiency in Excel including macro development and complex data manipulation
- Experience with database structures, relationships, and data integration
- Working knowledge of PLM systems and product data management/governance principles
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Oracle PLM systems
- Knowledge of consumer product development processes
- Familiarity with e-commerce data requirements
- Previous experience with data migration projects
- Understanding of product attribution standards in retail environments
