Job Summary

 

The Senior Human Resources Compliance Specialist will provide support to the HR Leadership team to ensure the organization is adhering to employment laws, regulations, and internal policies related to human resources. This will include reporting, conducting audits, updating policies, and supporting other compliance related tasks.  

 

Essential Job Functions *

 

  1. Assist in the development of tools and resources for HR compliance programs and processes including procedures, guidelines and documentation.
  2. Collaborate with HR process owners to review the maintenance of required compliance documentation and ensure internal control practices are in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Provide assistance to senior-level HR staff and management to drive compliance objectives, providing project management support in designing and implementing compliance processes and tools.
  1. Identify and update COE’s and other key stakeholders on changes in laws, regulations and guidelines.
  2. Provide administrative support for various department processes, including yearly MVR updates, required policy acknowledgement campaigns, policy and handbook updates and I-9 compliance.
  3. Develop and monitor HR compliance calendar. 
  4. Track compliance poster requirements and ensure appropriate posters are displayed in all physical office locations and electronically.
  5. Maintains compliance with I-9 Records and E-Verification requirements.
  6. Manages the process for creating and maintaining Human Resources Standard Operating Procedures; ensure process maps, and documentation remain current and that process changes are effectively managed from a control perspective.
  7. Provide administrative support for Compliance Training records and reporting; Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required and document all compliance activities. 
  8. Support the development of remediation solutions for audit findings.
  9. Track and follow up on missing documentation.

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor's and Collage Degree in Human Resources, Business, Education, Business/Administration, Information Systems, or related field of study preferred
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, completing assignments on-time and with accuracy

  • Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proven experience executing on all "day-to-day" activities, preferably in a multi-state environment.
  • Ability to conduct audits and assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with HR systems and software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
