Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist
What We Need
Corpay is currently looking to hire an Accounts Receivable Specialist within our Credit division. This position falls under our lodging line of business and is remote. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently applying incoming payments to customer accounts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring the integrity of the accounts receivable ledger. This role is critical in the order-to-cash process, supporting the company’s financial accuracy and customer satisfaction. You will report directly to the accounts receivable manager.
How We Work
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be expected to work remotely, working from home. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:
- The assigned workspace is remote, working in the Central Standard Time zone.
- Formal, hands-on training (2-3 weeks paid training - remote)
Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Processing and applying incoming customer payments (checks, wires, ACH, credit cards) to the appropriate accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reconciling daily cash receipts against bank statements and customer remittances.
- Researching and resolving unapplied or misapplied payments and short/overpayments.
- Communicating with internal teams (e.g., billing, collections, finance) to resolve payment issues or customer disputes.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and records for audit purposes.
- Generating and analyzing cash application reports to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- An associate's or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or general accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AR processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
- Familiarity with lockbox processing and electronic banking platforms.
- Working knowledge of automated cash application tools or software.
