Vice President, Field Sales Account Development

What We Need

Corpay is seeking a Vice President, Account Development to lead our Account Development Team within the US Vehicle Payments division. Reporting directly to the SVP of US Vehicle Payments, this individual will lead a team of 5-7 Account Development Managers focused on managing and growing strategic fleet customers.

The VP will be responsible for driving client retention, revenue growth, and upselling, while coaching the team to meet their professional goals and deliver on company objectives. This role requires a high-performing leader with a passion for mentoring, strategic execution, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure Corpay remains a trusted partner in the fleet and payments industry.

Key Responsibilities

As Vice President, Account Development, you will:

  • Develop and execute sales strategy to exceed revenue targets across Fleet and AP solutions
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Development Managers through one-on-ones, field visits, team meetings, and performance reviews
  • Oversee pipeline management, forecasting, onboarding, and all activity tied to KPIs and quota achievement
  • Optimize lead generation and territory planning to drive account growth
  • Recruit, assess, and retain top sales talent, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Deliver regular performance reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) and align on business priorities
  • Serve as a strategic liaison between sales and internal departments (Product, Marketing, Operations, Customer Experience)
  • Represent Corpay in client engagements and industry events to enhance market presence
  • Monitor and control sales team expenses in alignment with budgetary goals
  • Stay current on industry trends in FinTech, payments, and fleet, translating insights into client strategy and internal innovation
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, accountability, and client success

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience leading teams in client success, account management, sales, or operations—ideally within FinTech, fleet, or payments.
  • A strong track record of managing complex client relationships and driving profitable growth across large enterprise accounts.
  • Demonstrated experience in renewals, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations.
  • Success in competitive, high-performance, target-driven environments.
  • Extensive experience in business development and a "hunter" sales model.
  • Proven ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing teams, including performance management, onboarding, and talent development.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present to C-level executives.
  • Deep understanding of metric-based sales organizations, including pipeline, territory, and sales cycle management.
  • High analytical capability with the ability to turn data into insights and actions.
  • Strong financial acumen and data literacy, with proficiency in Salesforce CRM and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinker with strong business judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses qualities such as resilience, focus, discipline, accountability, competitiveness, and strategic vision.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

On-target earnings year one: $240,000 - $275,000
