The Digital Marketing Associate at Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing is responsible for overseeing paid and organic influencer marketing campaigns for a wide range of bestselling and acclaimed children’s and YA titles. As part of our Digital Marketing team, this role works across both of our brand channels for Simon Kids (picture books, ready-to-reads, chapter books, and middle grade) and Simon Teen (young adult) and also collaborates with Trade Marketing, Education and Library Marketing, Publicity, Ad Promo, Editorial, and Sales.

Successful candidates will bring a strong skill set for communication and project management, along with a passion for cultivating meaningful relationships with readers and content creators, leveraging existing fandoms for our authors, and reaching new communities for our books! The Digital Marketing Associate reports to the Senior Digital Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, execute, and report on paid and organic influencer marketing campaigns for book-focused, parent, educator, and lifestyle influencers
  • Manage the Simon Kids Influencer Program and assist with maintaining the Simon Teen Influencer Program, including overseeing day-to-day communications with influencers, tracking content posts and title sentiment, and researching emerging voices for program inclusion
  • Collaborate with social channel leads on influencer engagement, community management, and content creation for the Simon Kids and Simon Teen platforms
  • Generate campaign performance recaps for internal and external stakeholders, including authors, agents, and Sales
  • Assist with tracking competitor titles, consumer behavior, and industry and pop culture trends to leverage promotional opportunities
  • Handle administrative tasks including book mailings, ARC inventory, influencer contracts, and invoicing
  • Participate in seasonal brainstorming for digital marketing plans and read assigned manuscripts for forthcoming titles
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of experience in marketing, influencer marketing, social media management, and/or digital media
  • Passion for children’s books and literacy, and familiarity with the competitive children’s and YA publishing landscape
  • Fluency across social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Threads, X, YouTube) and awareness of the evolving influencer marketplace
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills, with proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to frame feedback for external partners in a constructive manner

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with Airtable, Meltwater, Canva, and basic video editing tools for social content creation (CapCut, Reels)
  • Budget negotiation skills
  • Comfortable being on camera for public-facing social media content
